Fall Workshops
For most people today the word “Puritan” conjures up ideas of cold obedience or moral rectitude or even religious cruelty. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The Puritan era of the 1600’s was known as the Golden Age of the church. Much of our modern theological and devotional thinking comes from the Puritan era. Some of the most brilliant and devoted followers of Christ were Puritans. So, who were they and where did they come from?
Join us this October as we learn from eminent church historian Dr. Michael Haykin about this misunderstood yet glorious history that will help us re-discover genuine love for Christ and for our neighbours as we look at the lives of men and women of the Puritan era.
Guest Speaker
Michael A.G. Azad Haykin is chair and professor of church history at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Director of the Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies in Louisville, KY. He is also the author of a number of books and articles on Christianity in both late Antiquity and the long eighteenth century.
